It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a key and beloved member of the Spirit Xtreme Triathlon & Spirit of 78 Triathlon organisation.
On 5th May, we lost not only a colleague but a dear friend and an integral part of our team — someone whose dedication, passion, and tireless work helped shape the spirit and soul of this event. His contribution went far beyond logistics or planning; he was a constant source of inspiration, unity, and heart for all of us involved.
He proudly completed two editions of the Spirit of 78 Triathlon and, over the past two years, was an essential part of the organising team of the Spirit of 78 and Spirit Xtreme — always bringing energy, commitment, and a deep love for the Spirit Organizations.
In light of this tragic loss, and after careful consideration, we have made the incredibly difficult decision to cancel the race that was scheduled for May 10th. We understand the disappointment this may cause to all the athletes, supporters, and volunteers who have been preparing and looking forward to the event, but we believe this is the most respectful course of action at this time.
We apologise deeply for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding and compassion. Above all, we ask that you join us in honouring the memory of our colleague, whose spirit will forever be a part of the Spirit Family.
With gratitude,
The Spirit Xtreme Team
